Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan recently visited Mumbai, where she was hosted by Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani at their residence, Antilia. The gathering brought together members of the Ambani family, including Isha Ambani Piramal and Anand Piramal, Shloka Ambani, and Radhika Ambani, in an evening that reflected understated sophistication and timeless style.
The occasion became a subtle celebration of “quiet luxury” — a fashion philosophy centred on elegance, refined tailoring, and muted tones rather than overt display. Each of the women present chose ensembles that highlighted grace, simplicity, and classic design, creating a collective fashion moment defined by restraint and sophistication.
Nita Ambani opted for a soothing ivory ensemble featuring delicate embroidery. Her saree, finished with scalloped lace detailing along the edges, was complemented by a multi-layered pearl necklace, diamond bangles, and matching earrings, blending traditional aesthetics with modern refinement.
Queen Rania chose an embroidered midi skirt by Dries Van Noten, adorned with intricate floral threadwork. She paired it with an ivory blouse and a moss-green sash, creating a look that was both contemporary and elegant — a signature style that has long defined her public appearances.
Isha Ambani Piramal embraced a modern yet minimal aesthetic with a printed sleeveless top paired with a long skirt, accessorised with diamond drop earrings. Shloka Ambani selected a powder-blue outfit with subtle stripes and full sleeves, featuring a tie-up neckline that added softness to the silhouette. Radhika Ambani, meanwhile, opted for a more contemporary look, styling a satin jacket with a mini skirt, balancing modernity with understated luxury.
During her visit to India, Queen Rania also visited Swadesh, an initiative that celebrates Indian cultural identity through handcrafted textiles, home décor, and lifestyle products. She interacted with women artisans engaged in traditional crafts such as hand embroidery, weaving, and knotted carpet making, highlighting her continued commitment to cultural preservation and women’s empowerment.
Queen Rania, the wife of King Abdullah II of Jordan, is widely recognised for her advocacy in education and social development, particularly in the empowerment of women and youth. Alongside her humanitarian work, she is often regarded as one of the world’s most stylish royals, known for her effortless ability to combine contemporary fashion with timeless elegance.
One of her most memorable fashion appearances came during the wedding celebrations of her son, Crown Prince Hussein, where she wore a black long-sleeved gown from Dior’s Autumn/Winter 2022 couture collection. The high-necked design, detailed with intricate gold embroidery along the collar, sleeves, and back, paired with a gold clutch and an elegant updo, further cemented her reputation for refined glamour.
Through this Mumbai appearance, Queen Rania and the Ambani family once again demonstrated that true luxury lies not in extravagance, but in quiet confidence, craftsmanship, and enduring style.
