Strategic Push: India, France Sign Over 20 Pacts to Strengthen Cooperation

Mumbai: India and France on Tuesday expanded their bilateral cooperation by announcing more than 20 agreements and joint initiatives spanning defence, technology, skill development, healthcare and innovation, following detailed discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron.

President Macron is currently on a three-day visit to India, during which he is attending the AI Summit 2026 in New Delhi and engaging in high-level meetings aimed at advancing cooperation between the two nations.

The bilateral talks covered a broad spectrum of areas, including trade expansion, defence collaboration, clean energy, and emerging technologies. Both leaders emphasised the importance of strengthening their long-standing strategic partnership amid evolving global challenges.

The agreements are expected to deepen collaboration in critical sectors while enhancing technological exchange and economic engagement between the two countries, reflecting a shared vision for closer cooperation in the years ahead.
